Ro'Calquistril
The Seven Section NPC
Occupation & History:
Ro' is a hunter and guardian; a protector of the forest. He patrols the area between the Blackwater River and the River of Monsters, on foot and by punt. He has served the Grunalf clan chiefs in two major skirmishes against invading orcs and beastmen from the Broken Lands, suffering serious injuries in both.
Physical Description:
5' 4" tall and 154 pounds with long blonde hair and violet eyes Ro' does not stand out from the crowd, but that suits him fine. He dresses to blend in with the trees and shadows. He walks with a slight limb, especially on cold, damp mornings the legacy of a serious wound. Another wound cost him two fingers on his right hand but this tends to be hidden by the mailed gauntlets he wears.
Attributes & Skills:
A skilled tracker through the dense woodlands of his native Alfheim, Ro' is also able to follow his foes over the rocky scrublands of the Broken Lands. He is also skilled in healing and he has sharp ears and eyes, useful attributes for a ranger who spends many weeks alone in the wilds.
Values & Motivations:
He has strong religious beliefs and returns to the clan shrine whenever he can to give offerings to his ancestors. He is motivated by his hatred of orcs and all evil creatures that killed his best friend and many of his companions when he was younger.
Interactions with Others:
He is terse and ill mannered,unused to contact with fellow elves spending so much of his life alone. He dislikes dwarves and humans as he thinks that they do not do as much as they could do to stamp out the evils in the Broken Lands. He has in the past fallen in love with the patrons that he served but now, partly due to his injury, keeps his heart to himself.
Useful Knowledge:
He knows much about trees and the natural world. He has studied the ways of orcs and other evil humanoids to help him track them down. He has spent some time as a farmer, like his father, as well as several stints in the elven military forces.

He has a slight limp and two fingers missing from his right hand.

Adventure Hooks:
For Low Level Elven PCs (Levels 1-6)
Ro' recruits the PCs into the Alfheim defence forces. A small group of goblins has been attacking the small villages on the edge of the forest and he needs the PCs to find the goblin lair and remove the threat.
For Medium Level PCs (Levels 7-14)
Ro' has been hired to escort an important diplomat back to Darokin, and he recruits the PCs to help. However the diplomat has angered both some sections of the elven community and one of the Darokin trading families, both want him to have an accident on the way back to Darokin with the trade documents.
For High Level PCs (Levels 15-20)
Shadow Elves are infiltrating the forest in preparation for a major invasion. Ro' has found evidence for this and comes to the PCs as the clan chiefs don't believe him. The PCs need to collect enough evidence so that Ro' can go to the clan chiefs and be believed.
