Yakov Mikhailovich
The Seven Section NPC
Occupation & History:
Yakov is a paladin in the Church of Traladara, he received his calling after being healed by a cleric of the church when he was growing up. His family was comfortable and his father worked as a housekeeper in one of the noble houses of Kelvin. His parents disapproved of his friends from the less reputable areas of Kelvin especially a half-orc who used to ket the young Yakov into numerous scrapes.
Physical Description:
Handsome with a winning smile and tightly curled black hair, Yakov cuts a dashing figure in the streets of Kelvin. His armour and tabard are always spotlessly clean and polished. When mounted on his horse, Storm and wearing his armour he is even more imposing.
Attributes & Skills:
He has a strong knowledge of the Church Of Traladara's tenets and he is an accomplished rider. From his adventures in the seedier areas of Kelvin he has picked up some knowledge of the streets to go with his wilderness training. He plays the lute moderately well.
Values & Motivations:
He is obsessed with pleasing his father and supporting the tenets of the church which is only just regaining a foothold in Karameikos. He is patient with those not as skilled or able as he.
Interactions with Others:
He loves playing practical jokes on people, which annoys the elders of his order but his winning smile and honest heart soon leads to forgiveness.
Useful Knowledge:
He often knows what is going on in the streets from the contacts he built up in his youth so can often nip problems in the bud.
Distinguishing Feature:
Handsome, beaming smile and warm personality, he is always well dressed and his short stature sets him apart from the other more sober paladins of the Church of Traladara.

For Low Level PCs (Levels 1-6)
Someone has been stealing treasures from the churches of Traladara in Kelvin. Yakov hires the PCs to find who is behind it as his half-orc friend for once can not work out who has been doing it. It turns out that a nest of were rats in the Kelvin sewers have been stealing the church plate and selling it on the black market.
For Medium Level PCs (Levels 7-14)
A group of visiting merchants from Ylaruam are killed by what appears to be the avatar of Zirchev. Yakov hires the PCs to hunt down the killer before there is a diplomatic incident. It turns out that the avatar is not what it seems; instead it is an high level gnoll cleric of Yagrai who wishes to stir up trouble between Ylaruam and Karameikos.
For High Level PCs (Levels 15-20)
While visiting Kelvin, Lady Adriana Karameikos is charmed by a dragon disguised in human form. Baron Kelvin sends Yakov and the PCs to retrieve the lady. Yakov is sent because he trusts him to keep quiet about the incident and to persuade the PCs to keep quiet as well.
