Trebourne: Town Of Troubles

The Red Man Inn

The Red Man Inn

The Red Man Inn is neither the largest, nor the best inn in Trebourne, those titles must go to The Queen's Cart. It is however the best place to go for gossip and intrigue frequented as it is by some of the rougher members of the town. A large manhole outside the front entrance leads into the extensive sewer network that lies beneath the town.

The Red Man Tavern is but a stone's throw from the Market Square. It is however down a narrow alley that snakes between and below the overhanging upper storeys of lower class buildings. The cobbles are slick with waste tipped from the windows above and rats and worse lurk in the damp shadows. The Red Man tavern is situated at a bulge in the alley that gives a little space in front of the dark weather boarded building. It is two storey building with large windows facing the street either side of a double door. Above the door hangs a sign painted on which is a crouching red imp. On either side of the inn are shops general merchant) and workshops (carpenter). An arch to the left of the inn appears to lead into a courtyard. The smell of raw sewage is quite strong in the street. Inside the inn is warm and dry but not particularly clean.

The innkeeper is known only as 'Hawknose', nobody knows his real name. His nickname comes, not suprisingly, from his large hooked nose. He is gruff but not unfriendly and very protective of his daughter, Iris who waits on tables. He knows that shady deals are done in the rooms at the rear of the inn but does not ask to many questions. It was in one of these rooms that a group of adventurers first met Jasper Thorn, who turned out to be a lycanthrope and behind a number of robberies and murders.
