The Greenwood Inn

The Greenwood Inn is a two storey structure of stone and wood standing beside the road. Behind the inn a well stocked kitchen garden suggests that the food at least will be good. Smoke curls from the chimney of the inn and from a smaller building beside it, probably a smokehouse for hams and kippers from the savoury smells emanating from it. The only other building is a stable which probably has room for a least a dozen horses. Rising above and behind the inn is the Grimdell Forest and you notice that the inn has sturdy shutters upon the windows.
It was here that Jedon was poisoned and had a strange dream in which he was a dragon. The others fought of strange beasts and found the druid Kethlanna who cured Jedon.

The Common Room (1)

The common room is like many others in this part of the land. A bar runs the length of the wall opposite the door. Two long tables with benches and a trio of square tables fill most of the tap room. A large fireplace set into the southern wall offers warmth in the cold winter months. The windows have heavy wooden shutters to keep out the chill winds and possibly other things as well if the scratches on them are anything to go by. A flight of stairs by the door leads up to the lodging rooms, though for a few coppers the innkeeper Kelulan will allow you to sleep in the tap room. Under the stairs is a cramped privy, most customers however take their ease behind the stables. The table by the door (A) is taken by a group of four men speaking in hushed whispers. The long table by the windows (D) is occupied by a mixed group of five men who have large sheets of parchment spread out across the table. Plates of food and glasses of wine have been pushed to the edge of the table and in one case over it if the spreading stain on the floor is anything to go by. One of the five is dressed in much finer clothes then the others and unlike the others he never raises his voice but still it conveys a sense of authority. Two men, one finely dressed the other wearing common garb sit talking quietly at one of the other smaller tables (B) while two of the stools at the bar are taken by two women who are talking about the declining quality of horseflesh.

The Bar (2)

The bar is well stocked with spirits and ales. The shelf behind the bar contains an assortment of bottles of various shapes and colours. You can recognise a variety of dwarven spirits, gnomish ales and fine brandies from Bormaris. These are in addition to several barrels of beer brewed in Mercer's Crossing.

The Kitchen (2a)

The small kitchen is the domain of Kelulan's wife Oriona, who produces simple fare from local produce, including home smoked hams and sausages, bean soups and fresh bread.

The Stable (Not shown on map)

The stable is large enough to hold a dozen horses comfortably eighteen at a pinch. Food and water is good and in plentiful supply. The groom, a young lad by the name of Medric makes sure that all the horses are brushed down, hooves cleaned and the tack cleaned each day. This doesn't come cheap and Kelulan charges 3gp per horse per day. If the Inn is busy Kelulan will rent out the space above the stables for 1sp a night.

Smokehouse (Not shown on map)

This small building is where Oriona smokes, hams, fish and sausages. The floor is covered in oak chips and strewn with herbs before a slow fire is set. The planks of the building are stained black with smoke and the rich savoury smell of the smoking food can be smelt from several yards away.

Privy (3)

The upstairs privy is larger than the downstairs one but is for the use of travellers who have paid for rooms only.

Single Room (4 & 5)

This room has a single bed as the only piece of furniture. A window with solid wooden shutters is set into the west wall. Though small the room is clean.

Double Room (6 & 7)

These larger rooms each contain a two single beds with straw mattresses and warm woollen blankets.

Kelulan's Suite (8 & 9)

These rooms are the private rooms of the innkeeper and his wife. The small office has a desk and chair. Here Kelulan keeps his books and other records. The bedroom contains a fine four-poster bed which Kelulan won in a bet with a travelling merchant several years ago. It has secret compartments in each of the four posts in which Kelulan keeps his savings.

Bunkroom (10)

This room is packed with four pairs of narrow bunks. A small window lets some fresh air and light into the room but it still smells a little strongly of damp boots and sweaty bodies.

The Beasts Of Grimdell

The Ariesian Chaos Beast

Chaos Beast The Ariesian Chaos Beast has the legs of a goat with the torso and head of a human. However it has but a single red eye in its forehead and a pair of curved ram's horns sprouting from its temples. They stand over six foot tall and are powerfully built. They are usually armed with stone tipped spears which they throw before attacking with their taloned hands.
